WICHITA - The Newman women's soccer team tied 0-0 Saturday at Wilkins Field against 19th-ranked Heartland Conference foe St. Edward's. Newman was held without a shot on goal until the 83rd minute.

- St. Edward's entered the game ranked No. 19 in the lastest NSCAA poll.
- Newman goalkeeper Christina Farid had 14 saves for the match.
- The Jets were out-shot 27-3 in the contest. Ten of SEU's shots came in the first half while 15 came in the second.
- Freshman Bianca Torres fired Newman's first shot in the 21st minute. The Jets next shot didn't come until sophomore Lorielle Slates forced SEU goalkeeper Claire Tilton to make her first save of the game in the 83rd minute.
- SEU held an 8-1 corner kick advantage in the game.
- Newman had nine fouls while St. Edward's was whistled for four.
- There were three offsides fouls called. Two against SEU and one against Newman.

With the tie Newman moves to 2-2-3 on the season and 0-1-1 in Heartland Conference play. They will return to action Tuesday at 7 p.m.against Texas-Permian Basin at Wilkins Field.
