NJIT Climbs to 4th in Regional Poll
KANSAS CITY, MO— NJIT men's soccer climbed six spots to fourth in the latest United Soccer Coaches Southeast Region poll released Tuesday.
NJIT, standing at 3-0-1, jumped up six spots, which saw a substantial shift from the rankings a week earlier.
Having been ranked 10th in the Southeast Region debut poll, NJIT went 2-0-1 last week, with a 1-0 shutout victory at Navy, recorded a 2-2 draw against then-ranked No. 4 Florida International and picked up the Highlanders third win of the season with a 2-0 road win at Florida Atlantic.
NJIT will return back to action on Wednesday at 6pm when the Highlanders visit LIU Brooklyn. The Blackbirds (0-2-1) are coming off a 1-1 double overtime draw against Appalachian State, who ranked ninth in the latest Southeast Region poll.
United Soccer Coaches, formerly known as the National Soccer Coaches Association of American, consists of college soccer coaches from around the country at every level to help recognize players and coaches on and off the pitch.
