NJIT's Reisgys Earns ASUN Defensive Honor
NEWARK, NJ—NJIT freshman goalkeeper Samuel Reisgys has been selected ASUN Conference Defensive Player of the Week the conference office announced on Monday.
The 6-foot-3 goalkeeper picks up his third career Defensive Player of the Week honor after posting a clean sheet on Saturday in the Highlanders 2-0 win over visiting North Florida in ASUN action.
Reisgys, from Rimbach, Germany, recorded his fourth career shutout of the season, posting two saves against the Ospreys.
He tops the ASUN in save percentage (.781) and fourth in goals against average (1.19).
NJIT is undefeated in its last four contests (3-0-1).
The Highlanders will conclude its non-conference slate on October 15 at two-time defending Patriot League regular season champion Loyola
