No. 5 Women’s Soccer Rallies At Regis
DENVER – Locked in a 1-1 stalemate with under 10 minutes left in regulation, NSCAA No. 5 Colorado School of Mines women's soccer escaped Denver on Friday with a 2-1 win over Regis at the Regis Match Pitch.
Freshman Laya Rybicki put across the first of her collegiate career to the right corner at 56:32, and after the Regis (4-2-1, 2-1 RMAC) equalizer by Rikki Fix less than eight minutes later, sophomore Anna Deleray grooved her second straight go-ahead score inside the final 10:00 to left net with 9:13 on the clock.
The Orediggers (6-0-1, 3-0 RMAC) finished the balanced match holding slight advantages in shots (11-10), shots on goal (5-4) and corner kicks (4-3).
Deleray directed two of her four tries on frame. Rybicki, senior Kenzie King and junior Rachael Turner each added one.
Junior netminder Jayln Yates stopped three shot attempts in the full time, raising her season record to 6-0-1.
The women return home Sunday, hosting Colorado Colorado Springs at 2:30 p.m. at CSM Soccer Stadium in Golden.
Mines remains 11th in Division II annals in consecutive conference wins at 22 and 15th in consecutive conference games without a loss with 29.
