DAYTON, Ohio - A quick start fueled Wright State to a 4-0 victory over the Milwaukee men's soccer team Friday night at Alumni Field.
 
The Raiders (13-2-2, 6-1-1 Horizon League) struck the back of the net against the Panthers (8-7-2, 3-4-1 Horizon League) at the 1:30 mark, setting the tone for a tough night for Milwaukee and a regular-season title-clinching victory for WSU.
 
Just 90 seconds into the match, Jackson Dietrich found some daylight in the box, sending the eventual game-winner into the bottom right corner for his fifth goal of the fall.
 
Minutes later the deficit was doubled, with WSU going ahead 2-0 at the 6:52 mark.
 
The Panthers tried to settle down, but the offense was unable to dig into the lead by intermission. The team recorded three shots prior to the halftime horn, but could not put any of them on frame.
 
The second half nearly started very well for MKE, with Evan Conway just missing in the 46^th minute. Suad Suljic also had an attempt saved off the line by a backline defender in the 62^nd minute. Both of those opportunities could have turned momentum of the night.
 
Vuk Latinovich seemingly had one pulled back in the 80^th minute, only to see the WSU keeper come up with an amazing kick save where he was dropped low to make the sprawling stop.
 
WSU made it 3-0 in the 68^th minute and added a fourth later. Milwaukee ended up getting outshot just 12-to-10 on the night. Latinovich paced the offense with four shots.
 
Despite the loss, the postseason awaits thanks to UIC defeating Northern Kentucky earlier in the evening. The Panthers finished as the No. 6 seed and will head to Michigan to battle third-seeded Oakland Monday. More details will be posted when they are available.
