Pioneers Move to 2-0
DANVILLE, Ky. - Transylvania remained unbeaten on the young season Saturday, taking a 2-0 win over John Carroll in women's soccer action in the Centre College Showcase.
The Pioneers are 2-0 on the season while John Carroll drops to 0-2.
The contest was scoreless after the first half. Natosha Boden put the Pioneers ahead with a score in the 48th minute. The game remained a tight 1-0 battle until Kari Dailey converted an assist by Alyssa Kruse with under a minute to play.
Jerrica Scovel had 10 saves in goal for Transy, which won its second straight shutout. John Carroll had 14 shots, 10 on goal, while the Pioneers took 12 shots, eight on goal. Kruse had four shots for Transy while Dailey and Ashley Cobane took two shots apiece.
John Carroll had a 4-3 edge in corner attempts.
The Pioneers are back in action on Saturday when they take on Rhodes in the Sewanee Showcase. Transy takes on the home team on Sunday.
