Pitt Women's Soccer Adds Seven
The University of Pittsburgh women’s soccer program added seven student-athletes to its 2015 roster, head coach Greg Miller announced on Friday.
Representing six states (Ohio-2, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia), all seven members of the 2015 Pitt women’s soccer recruiting class will enroll at Pitt this fall with winning backgrounds.
“We welcome the 2015 class to the Pitt soccer family,” said Miller, who begins his fourth season as head coach at Pitt in 2015. “They are equal in both high character and talent and bring a great deal of skill, athleticism and winning experience to the program. We feel as though this class will add to our young group of returners and help take us further in achieving our program goals. There is a great deal of club, high school and national championship experience among them which will enhance our team’s ability to win games.”
In addition to the seven signees, Pitt adds transfer Nicole Hopkins and returns 15 letterwinners from last year’s squad. Pitt finished 6-12-0 and 2-8-0 in the ACC in 2014. The Panthers registered their first-ever two-victories in ACC play last season, defeating both Syracuse and NC State.
