Rajovic Garners Second Career MAAC Honor
EDISON, New Jersey - Sophomore goalkeeper Mark Rajovic was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced Monday. The award was the second MAAC honor of his career.
Rajovic stopped six shots in the Red Foxes’ 2-0 win at Rider on Sept. 26 to open up MAAC play. The shutout was his second of the season and ninth of his career, which put him in third place on the program's all-time list behind Mike Valenti (11) and Joe Pilla (10).
In Marist's eight games in 2015, Rajovic has made 39 saves and owns a 1.84 goals against average.
The Red Foxes (3-5, 1-0 MAAC) return from a three-game road trip to host Canisius at 4 p.m. Sept. 30 and will face off against Saint Peter's at 2 p.m. Oct. 3. Both matches will be streamed on the Red Fox Network.
