Ranger Men’s Soccer Down Two Spots to No. 3 on NSCAA National Poll
KANSAS CITY, Kan.: Regis University men's soccer moved down two spots to no. 3 in the NSCAA/Continental Tire coaches poll after suffering their first loss to then-ranked no. 23 Colorado School of Mines (now no. 19) 4-3 in the RMAC Championship match on Sunday.
The Rangers earned the first seed in the NCAA tournament however, giving them a bye to the third round to be played on November 15th or 16th.
As a team, the Rangers rank second in the nation in total points and goals and scoring offense, as well as sixth in total assists.
Sophomore Martin Maybin ranks 10th individually in total assists and 11th in points and assists per game. He ranks 12th in total points and 22nd in goals per game and 26th in total goals. Junior Justin Ortinau ranks 23rd in total assists and 30th in assists per game.
Freshman goalkeeper Christian Nicolosi ranks 21st with a 0.799 goals against average.
Regis will play the winner of Colorado Mines and Incarnate Word, a match that will take place Saturday, November 10th in Golden, Colo. at 1 p.m. The third round match will take place in the West Region at the highest remaining seed following the second round of playoffs.
The Peach Belt Conference will host the final four games on November 29th and December 1st at Blanchard Woods Park in Evans, Ga.
