Tough Afternoon on the Pitch for RU Women’s Soccer; Rangers Drop 3-0 to CMU
DENVER, Colo.: Regis had a hard time managing a goal this afternoon, falling 3-0 to Colorado Mesa University after 90:00 minutes of grueling play from both sides. The Maverick goalie collected seven saves against the Rangers, foiling the home team's attempts to score.
The opposition scored early, placing their first goal in the back of the net after five minutes on the pitch. The team would score once more in the first half and again in the second to finish the day with a 3-0 advantage.
Sophomore Sid Otto put in seven shots on the day, three of which were on goal while seniors Meghan Stuart, CC Rinehart, Rachel McMahon and sophomore Sade Akindeleeach had one shot on goal to their names.
Senior keeper Ellen Augsburger amassed two saves against the Mavs, one in each half of the match.
Regis will head to UC-Colorado Springs on Friday, October 4 for their next RMAC competition. The match is set to take place at 5:00 p.m.
