Rangers Fall 3-1 to Colorado Mines in Denver
DENVER, Colo.: It may have been chilly, but the sun was shining and both the Rangers of Regis University and Orediggers of Colorado School of Mines came out ready to supply fans with a vigorous match between Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opponents.
Regis worked through 90:00 minutes of time to offer Mines the third goal that had been scored on them in all games this season thus far, and they did it with gusto in the 90th minute of play.
The Rangers also offered the Diggers a goal in their earlier game this season in Golden, Colo. (Mines second of the year).
With 54 seconds left to go and the score in CSMs favor, RUs freshman duo Kelly Crowe and Catherine Anger connected for a goal.
Crowe passed in to Anger inside the 18-yard box, who took a few touches to evade the opposition and ripped a shot top right to score her first goal of the season.
The match finished 3-1 overall in the Orediggers' favor.
Senior Ellen Augsburger and freshman Kat Crump each spent 45:00 in goal, with Augsburger posting three saves and Crump with two.
The Rangers put in five shots on goal in six attempts throughout the match while Mines posted eight on goal against the home team.
Next, Regis will take on Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction, Colo. on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 3:00 p.m.
