‘Roos Settle for Second Straight Tie to Start the Season

(Kansas City, Mo.) – Despite a 1-0 halftime deficit to the Youngstown State Penguins (0-1-1), the UMKC’s women’s soccer team picked up the intensity in the second half, fighting back to tie the game at one by way of sophomore forward Taylor Bare’s goal in the 61st minute.
However, the ‘Roos (0-0-2) could not muster up enough effort to sneak past the Penguins to get their first win of the season and settled for another tie, 1-1.
Even though she gave up her first goal of the season, ‘Roo goalkeeper Jami Finnell still had a good outing, accumulating five saves on six shots.
Next game for UMKC is the last of three-game home stand against the Creighton Blue Jays on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
