Royals Suffer 3-0 Loss at Farmingdale State
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The University of Scranton women’s soccer team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end on Sunday with a 3-0 defeat at Farmingdale State.
The Royals (4-5-2) fell behind in the 30th minute and were unable to mount a comeback. They wound up being outshot by the Rams, 11-9, marking the first time in 11 matches this season Scranton has not outshot its opponent.
Senior defender Jessica Sciscione (Freehold, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) led Scranton with three shots, two of which were on goal.
Farmingdale State (6-5) received a goal at 29:07 of the first half, then scored twice in the span of three minutes late in the second half to put the game away. Freshman goalkeeper Breanna Blair (Littleton, Colo./High Point Regional) made five second-half saves for the Rams.
Scranton returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 6, when it travels to Selinsgrove, Pa. to take on Susquehanna University in a Landmark Conference match at noon.
