San Jose State men announce spring slate

The San Jose State men’s soccer team will host six matches in Spartan Stadium over the next six weeks head coach Gary St. Clair announced on Tuesday.
The Spartans kickoff their Spring campaign against Notre Dame de Namur on Friday, March 16, then on Friday, March 23 the California Golden Bears travels to the South Bay. Two Friday’s later, on April 6, the Cal State East Bay Pioneers make their Spring appearance in San Jose. All three matches are set for 7:00 p.m. kickoffs.
On Saturday, April 7, the Spartans will face a team of their Alumni and a week later, on Saturday, April 14, the Saint Mary’s Gaels will be the opponent. Both Saturday contests are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. kickoffs. San Jose State closes Spring action with cross-town rival Santa Clara on Friday, April 20.
The Spartans finished 2011 with a 9-8-3 record and reached the semifinals of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championship Tournament. Last year’s co-leading scorer and 2011 Continental Tires/ National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Men's NCAA Division I All-Far West Regional Team performer Steven Sanchez returns for his senior season.

March 23 – California – 7:00 p.m.
April 6 – Cal State East Bay – 7:00 p.m.
April 7 – Alumni – 1:00 p.m.
April 14 – Saint Mary’s College – 1:00 p.m.
April 20 – Santa Clara - TBA
