Seahawks Ink Eight To National Letter

Staten Island, NY – Wagner head women's soccer coach Phil Casella has announced that eight student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to continue their academic and athletics careers on Grymes Hill, beginning in the fall of 2019.
The signing class consists of Renata Djuravcevic (Hamilton, Canada), Lauren Haggerty (Hauppauge, NY), Erin Kelly (Massapequa, NY), Samantha Magill (Chepachet, RI), Isabella Manzella (Warrington, PA), Jordyn Price (Sewell, NJ), Anne White (Rocky Hill, CT), and Madelyn Wilde (Holden, MA).

Club Team: Saltfleet Stoney Creek
Attended Cardinal Newman Catholic Secondary School where she was a four-year member of the girls' soccer team… Also a four-year member of the Cardinals women's basketball team while playing one season on the co-ed beach volleyball squad… Two-time Athlete of the Year… Named the 2015-16 Team MVP for basketball… In the classroom, was named to the Honor Roll all four years… Led her soccer program to four city championships… In 2015-16, the Cardinals claimed the OFSAA championship… Also played for Saltfleet Stoney Creek.
Coach Casella on Djuravcevic: "Renata is a very experienced player from Canada. She has played at multiple levels during her time in Ontario. Her skills are strong and she has a very high soccer IQ. For us, we expect that she will compete in our midfield and forward positions."

Attended St. Anthony's High School in South Huntington, NY where she was a varsity member of the Friars soccer program in 2017 and 2018… In the classroom, earned the St. Bonaventure Award (as she maintained over a 95 average each semester for her four-year high school career)… Won the Academic Scholar Award for soccer while receiving the St. Anthony's Spirit Award in 2017… Was a member of the National Honor and Math Honor Society… On the pitch, in 2017, she netted five goals while adding 11 assists… In 2018, tallied two goals and added 12 assists… Helped the Friars win their third straight New York Catholic State championship while being named to the 2018 All-League team... Captured the 2017 State title as her team was ranked second in the nation for the entire season... Also played for SUSA FC, where in 2016-2017, she scored three goals and had 10 assists… The following season, scored twice and had 14 assists… SUSA was undefeated for two seasons, without conceding a goal in NPL while earning the league title and were the NPL National Champions in 2017 and reached the NPL national semifinals in 2018… Spent a week in Tennessee as she visited orphanages and nursing homes while also serving as a volunteer counselor at a Special Need sleep away camp in Upstate, NY.
Coach Casella on Haggerty: "Lauren comes to us from one of the top youth and high school programs in New York. She has a strong work rate and has a high-motor while patrolling the midfield. Lauren has shown that she can be a player for us who loves being on the ball when the game is on the line."

Attended Ponaganset High School where she was a three-sport athlete (soccer, track and lacrosse)… Was named team captain for the 2018 season… In the classroom, a four-year Honor Roll member and the last two years was added to the National Honor Society… On the pitch, scored two goals and added three assists in her freshman season… The following season, finished second on the team in goals with five while leading Ponaganset in assists with five… In her junior campaign, finished third on the squad in goals with three while leading the team in assists for the second straight season… This past season, added four more helpers to her career ledger… Led Ponaganset to the playoffs all four years…

Dual sport athlete that played a year of soccer and was a four-year member of the Washington Township indoor track and field squad… Ran a season of outdoor track as well… In the classroom, was a four-year member of the National Honor Society…On the track, she was named Rookie of the Year for sprinters in 2016… On the pitch, this past season, she scored two goals to lead the No. 4 seeded Minutemaids, who were ranked No. 16 in the NJ.com Top 20, past 13th-seeded Brick Memorial, 3-0, in the first round of the South Jersey, Group 4 Tournament…

Attended Rocky Hill High School, where she was a four-year member of the Terriers soccer team… Competed in three seasons of indoor track and ran a season of outdoor track… In the classroom, earned High Honors all four seasons as well as being inducted into the National Honor Society her junior semester… Was tabbed to the All-Academic team all four years of high school… On the pitch, earned Rookie of the Year honors, while being named to the all-conference team in her sophomore and junior years… Also named an All-State honoree in her junior season… Led the Terriers all four season in assists, while guiding the Terriers to the state quarterfinals her junior season… Involved with her community, as she participated in Sidekicks, an organization in Rocky Hill, CT where you play soccer with children that have special needs on the weekends… On days off, during soccer season, she would spend an hour with a group of kids that have disabilities and helped them improve their skills and learn about the game of soccer.
