Siena Edges Rider, 1-0
LOUDONVILLE, NJ – The Rider University women’s soccer team fell at Siena, 1-0, Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 7-5-2 (3-3-1 MAAC), while the Saints are now 7-6-3 (4-1-2 MAAC).
Siena scored the game-winning goal in the 40th minute, when Saints freshman Ashleigh Serafin finished inside the left post off assists from Deanna Lomino and Amanda Holtzman.
Following an evenly-played first half in which both teams took six shots, the Saints kept the pressure on, taking a 7-3 edge in shots in the second half. However, the Broncs took a 3-2 edge in shots on goal. But Siena goalkeeper Taylor Dorado made all three saves to close out the clean sheet.
