KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Fort Lewis College women’s soccer team (13-1-3 overall, 10-1-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) returned to the NCAA Division II Top 10 at No. 8 in the ninth NCAA Division II poll of the season, released earlier today by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and Continental Tire.

The Skyhawks, ranked No. 14 in the nation last week, defeated Adams State 5-0 last Friday and New Mexico Highlands 2-1 last Sunday.

Three RMAC teams are ranked this week: No. 8 Fort Lewis, No. 23 Colorado Mines (12-2-2, 8-2-2), and No. 25 Metro State (12-4-1, 8-4-1).

“We have been all over the place as far as rankings this year, and we are trying to just stay focused on the games ahead,” said fifth-year FLC head coach Damian Clarke.

One thing Clarke and his team knows for certain: a win or tie at 1 p.m. Sunday at Regis (12-4-0, 9-3-0) and FLC will clinch its second straight RMAC regular season crown and earn the right to host the league playoffs. Fort Lewis leads the RMAC with 32 points (three points awarded for each conference win, one for each conference tie), trailed by Regis (27) and Colorado Mines (26). Both the Rangers and Orediggers play two games this week, giving them the opportunity to earn six points in the league standings and either jump ahead or catch FLC.

Additionally, the NCAA released its Division II statistical leaders today. FLC sophomore goalkeeper Amanda Raso ranks ninth in the nation in minutes played (1,531), while sophomore forward Emma Cannis is 14th in assists (nine).
