Smith: The final hurrah
Caleb Smith played DI soccer at SMU from 2015-2018. He will be writing about his rookie season in the USL Championship with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds throughout the 2019 campaign.
The jokes came early and often during warmups. Players laughed in the huddle as we rounded the third corner flag of the stadium.

The ball zipped across the surface with each pass landing right at the players foot. We were locked in. It was the day before the biggest game of the season and in the club’s history. The pressure to perform and deliver was at an all-time high. The owner watched from the sidelines knowing that this team had the chance to do something special; something that no Riverhounds team has ever done.
