Soccer Announces Spring Schedule
HOUSTON - A match-up against No. 14 Texas A&M, three home matches and an alumni game highlight the 2013 Houston Soccer spring schedule, head coach Chris Pfau announced Wednesday.
"This is a challenging spring schedule for us," Pfau said. "To be able to play one of the best teams in the country in our first game will really test us. We will continue to develop our style, push our players and incorporate our two new transfers. We want to build off what we did this fall, be able to evaluate our talent, and figure out what we want to do going into pre-season."
The Cougars open their spring slate when they travel to College Station, Texas, to take on Texas A&M at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 9. The Aggies finished their 2012 season 19-4-1 overall and made a trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals, where they were shut out by Florida State.
From there, Houston will headup Interstate 45 to Huntsville, Texas, to play Sam Houston State at 2 p.m., Feb. 16.
The Cougars return home to face the Austin Nationals at 1 p.m., Feb. 24, followed by a match-up against Houston Baptist at 1 p.m., March 3.
The spring season will come to a conclusion at Noon March 23 as the Cougars host Texas Southern, followed by the Houston Soccer Alumni Game at 5 p.m.
All home matches will be played on the Carl Lewis Field.
