St. Cloud State falls at U-Mary, 2-0
The St. Cloud State University soccer team (6-4-2, 5-3-2 NSIC) lost a 2-0 decision at the University of Mary (2-9-1, 2-8-0 NSIC) on Saturday, Oct. 17 in Bismarck, N.D.
The Mauraders' Mykala Benjamin scored her first goal of the game at 18:02 with an assist from Megan Searson on a breakaway down the left side. She added her second goal of the day at 29:51 with a solo assist from Emily Christensen on a breakout play from the left side.
U-Mary outshot the Huskies 14-12 in the contest as Alexa Starr, Michelle Cornell and Naomi Kolhoff paced the Huskies with three shots apiece in the game. In the nets, Brittany Plombon had two saves for SCSU, while Baily Wenz had five saves and also gained the shutout in the contest.
SCSU will continue its season on Sunday, Oct. 18 with a 1 p.m. match against nationally ranked Minot State University in Minot, N.D.
