St. Cloud State Suffers 2-0 Setback at Winona State
Winona, Minn. - The St. Cloud State University soccer team (4-7, 2-5 NSIC) suffered a tough 2-0 setback at league leader Winona State (8-2-1, 6-0-0 NSIC) on Saturday, Oct. 8 in Winona, Minn.
Sarah Colleran of Winona State scored the game winner at 51:19 of the contest with an assist from Melissa Seiller, which broke the scoreless tie in the second half of the game.
The Warriors added some insurance to the decision with a second goal at 78:45. Sellier score the WSU goal with helpers from Amanda Bergstedt and Hadley Bales.
In the contest, WSU outshot the Huskies 17-5 as SCSU netminder Kenzie Hanzlik had four saves in the game. WSU's Anna Belpedio chalked up the shutout with three saves to her credit.
The Huskies will continue their 2011 season on Oct. 9 with a 1 p.m. match at Upper Iowa.
