TDS Women's Division I Top 25: Sept. 14
Pretty soon, more people could be talking about Tulsa.
The American Athletic Conference program extended its winning streak to eight games with victories against Indiana State and Incarnate Word, and its 8-0 record lands it at No. 19 in this week's TDS Top 25. Since conceding a goal in the second game of the year, Tulsa hasn't conceded a goal in six straight games, outscoring the opposition 15-0.
Another perfect team, Washington State, jumps in at No. 22. The Cougars won back-to-back 2-1 games topping Oklahoma State on Friday night, and edging Cal State Fullerton on Sunday.
Elsewhere in the rankings, No. 1 Virginia continued its torrid start, shutting out Harvard and Old Dominion at home by identical 3-0 score lines.
ACC teams comprise the four of the top five teams in the country. No. 2 Florida State's offense guided them to wins over UCF and Grand Canyon, No. 3 North Carolina went on the road to beat Nebraska 3-0 before returning to Chapel Hill and beating UCLA 3-1, while No. 5 Notre Dame defeated Big Ten opponents Indiana and Michigan.
Checking in at No. 4, West Virginia is the lone team in the top five teams not from the ACC. The Mountaineers defeated Ohio State and Longwood last week.
