With new additions Missouri (Eastern Division) and Texas A&M (Western Division) set to join the Southeastern Conference as official members on July 1, the SEC has announced a new 14-team league schedule for women’s soccer for the upcoming 2012 campaign.

 

“This an exciting time of the year,” Tennessee Head Coach Brian Pensky said.  “As the official conference schedule gets announced, we all get a little jacked up in anticipation for the fall. There is some extra excitement with the addition of Missouri and Texas A&M, who will both only further strengthen the SEC in women’s soccer.  August cannot come soon enough!”

 

The Tennessee Lady Vol soccer program will kick off its 2012 conference schedule by hosting the Alabama Crimson Tide on September 14 and Vanderbilt Commodores on September 16, before making its initial road trip of the season to Gainesville, Fla., to face off against the Florida Gators on September 21.

 

Other home league contests slated for Regal Soccer Stadium include Arkansas (Sept. 28), Missouri (Sept. 30), Kentucky (Oct. 12), LSU (Oct. 14) and Georgia (Oct. 25).

 

In league action the Big Orange will also venture out on the road to Mississippi State (Sept. 23), South Carolina (Oct. 5), Auburn (Oct. 7), Texas A&M (Oct. 19) and Ole Miss (Oct. 21).

 

The annual SEC Women’s Soccer Championship will be held over October 31-November 4 at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Ala.
