Junior defender Cyril Coisne's penalty-kick with less than three minutes remaining in the second overtime gave the host St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers a 1-0 victory against the UAlbany Great Danes, on Saturday afternoon at Brooklyn Bridge Park. The Terriers improved to 7-0-2 and have allowed just one goal in nearly 900 minutes of play this season. UAlbany fell to 4-3-1 on the campaign. Coisne, who also scored the game-winner on a penalty-kick against Rhode Island this past Wednesday, beat Great Danes' keeper Danny Vitiello with a blast to the upper right corner. The shot was awarded after sophomore forward Afonso Pinheiro was whistled for a hand ball inside the box. "I enjoy being in those situations {penalty kicks) and we practice them a lot," said Coisne. "I like the tension and I'm really able to stay in my own world and concentrate on the goalkeeper." The Terriers, who are unbeaten in their last 11 home contests, controlled most of the play for the entire match, outshooting UAlbany by a 20-5 margin. Senior goalkeeper Jack Binks recorded his seventh shutout of the season and the 24th of his Terrier career. Head Coach Tom Giovatto was proud of his team's effort, particularly on the defensive end of the field. "Albany is a really good and made it hard for us to play our game," he said. "We got a lucky break on the hand ball and were able to capitalize on the opportunity. Our defense has been tremendous all season and our guys have bought in all season. Jack does a tremendous job of organizing the guys in front of him." Forward John Makaya recorded a match-high five shots in the game and midfielder Vincent Bezecourt added four attempts. The Terriers, who received 12 votes in the latest NSCAA National Rankings, will travel to NJIT on October 3rd.
