TopDrawerSoccer Men’s DI Top 25: Oct. 1
Wake Forest (10-0) continues to dominate in men’s college soccer. The Demon Deacons ended week six with a plus 23 goal differential. Wake Forest’s depth has really shined over the past few weeks and figures to be the key piece on the run to the elusive College Cup appearance in Santa Barbara in December.
Indiana(m) (9-1), Kentucky(m) (8-0-1), Denver(m) (8-0-2), and Louisville (6-1-2) remain the rest of the top five this week in the TopDrawerSoccer Men’s Division I Top 25. Indiana improved to 3-0 in conference play on Sunday with a win over Penn State(m). The battle for the Big Ten title will be tightly contested this season. The Hoosiers are the clear favorites, but No. 16 Michigan State(m) (8-1-2), No. 22 Michigan(m) (7-1-1), Maryland (4-3-2), and Wisconsin (5-4-1) could all be the top dog on their given day.
Portland(m) (8-0-2) jumps into the top 10 this week following a road win over Coastal Carolina and home win over No. 21 Northern Illinois (7-3). Portland enters West Coast Conference play this week. The Pilots and St. Mary’s (11-0) are both in the TopDrawerSoccer Men’s Division I Top 10 this week. The two programs meet on Nov. 10.
