Trine Drops Conference Road Game
ALMA, Mich. - An early goal put the Trine University women’s soccer team behind the figurative soccer ball as they would fall to defending conference champion Alma, 2-0. The loss drops the Thunder to 1-7-2 on the season and 0-5-1 in the MIAA.
Alma found the back of the net just 3:49 into the game, for what would be the game-winner. The Scots would add a goal in the 17th minute, as neither team was able to score in the second half.
Trine’s lone shot attempt came from senior Ruth Feliciano (Ashland, Ohio/Ashland) in the first half but was saved by the Alma goalie.
Freshman Sloan Davis (Olivet, Mich./Olivet) recorded six saves in net for the Thunder, including four in the first half.
For the afternoon the Scots out-shot Trine 33-1.
Trine will go back out on the road as they travel to Saint Mary’s on October 3 for a 4:00 p.m. game.
