Trine Men Fall to Olivet
ANGOLA, Ind. - The Trine University men’s soccer team fell to the Comets of Olivet College 1-0 in a very competitive game. The Thunder are now 2-8-1 in the regular season and 0-6 in MIAA play.
The Thunder fought hard but gave up a goal to the Jon Puente in the 75th minute after neither team was able to score in the first half. The Comets goal came off of a quick counter attack that caught the Thunder off-guard.
The Thunder took nine total shots, seven of which came in the second half. Although they had just three shots on goal, the Thunder had a number of opportunities throughout the game to score the equalizer.
Trine junior goalkeeper Chris Stewart (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester) made six saves on the day.
The Thunder will be back in action on Oct. 12 as they travel to Kalamazoo for a 2:30 p.m. game.
