Trine Men's Soccer Falls to Knights
ANGOLA, Ind. - It was a tough game for the Trine University men’s soccer team as they fell to defending conference champion Calvin College 3-0. The loss drops the Thunder to 2-4-1 on the year and 0-2 in the conference.
Calvin scored the first goal of the game 21 minutes in as they held just a 1-0 lead at halftime but out-shot the Thunder 9-1 in the half.
The second half didn’t start any better for the Thunder as the Knights score just seven minutes in before adding another goal in the 67th minute.
Starting goalie, junior Chris Stewart (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester) recorded three saves for the night playing just over 77 minutes. Freshman Ian Jindrich (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) came on for the final 12 minutes and change to record three saves.
Trine was held to just four shots while Calvin attempted 21. Freshman Bill Wilson (Mason, Mich./Mason) led the Thunder with two shot attempts.
