Tulsa Falls to #1 Creighton, 1-0
The Tulsa men’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to top-ranked Creighton on Saturday night at Morrison Stadium in Omaha, Neb. TU fell to 3-3-1 on the season, while CU moved to 6-0 overall.
The first half ticked off the clock scoreless, but the Bluejays’ Ricardo Perez punched one into the back of the net off a combination from Joel Rydstrand and Fabian Herbers at the 45:52 mark. Perez’ goal would be the only one of the night for either team.
Creighton had a 29-8 lead in shots, including a 10-2 advantage in shots on goal, and an 11-2 lead in corner kicks.
Aymar Sigue had a team-best three shots for the Golden Hurricane, while Cameron Drackett and Ray Saari each added two attempts. Jake McGuire logged all 90 minutes between the posts and picked up nine saves.
Tulsa will return to action against UMKC on Monday, Sept. 21. Game time is set for 7:00 pm in Kansas City, Mo.
