Tulsa Falls to Memphis, 4-0
The Tulsa women’s soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Memphis on Friday night at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex in Memphis, Tenn. TU fell to 7-7-1 on the season and 3-2 in the American Athletic Conference, while the Tigers moved to 10-3-1 overall and 4-1 in the league.
Valerie Sanderson put Memphis on the board at the 15:16 mark as she scored off a combination from Marie Levasseur and Serena Dolan. Mikayla Morton made it 2-0 as she tallied a score at the 35:00 mark.
In the second frame Jessica Lisi added a score for the Tigers in the 52nd minute and Sanderson recorded her second goal of the contest in the 54th minute.
Memphis had a 31-6 lead in shots, including a 10-3 advantage in shots on goal, and an 11-0 lead in corner kicks.
Tana Dake had a team-best four shots, while Alzbeta Chlumova and Christina Holmes both had one attempt. Rebecca Defer logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up six saves.
Tulsa will return to action on Thursday, October 20 at Houston.
