UD WINS A-10 OPENER 1-0 OVER SAINT LOUIS
ST. LOUIS – Senior Nicole Waters scored the lone goal of the match and freshman goalkeeper Kaelyn Johns earned her first collegiate shutout in Dayton's 1-0 win over Saint Louis in the Atlantic 10 opener for both teams Thursday night at Hermann Stadium.
STATS OF THE MATCH
• Senior Nicole Waters scored on a blast from 25 yards out in the 61stminute. It is her second goal this season and 19th of her career. She now has scored six game-winning goals in her career.
• The Flyers outshot the Billikens 21-17.
• Johns earned her first collegiate shutout. She had five saves in the match vs. SLU.
• SLU's Rodriguez received her second yellow card in the 80th minute and was sent off, leaving the Billikens a player short for the final 10 minutes of regulation.
• Johns, Waters, Alexis Kiehl, Libby Leedom, Kathleen Golterman, Nadia Pestell, Erin O'Malley and Abby Weigel played all 90 minutes of the match.
