Utheim Nabs Defensive Player Of The Week
EDISON, New Jersey - After making his collegiate debut in the 2015 Marist men's soccer regular season finale, sophomore Tyler Utheim was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced Monday.
Utheim made nine saves against nationally ranked Monmouth to preserve a 2-2 tie Oct. 31. He stopped a shot in each overtime period against the regular season conference champion Hawks and finished with an .818 save percentage after the 110 minutes expired.
Marist will enter the 2015 MAAC Championships as the no. 3 seed. With the top five regular season finish, the Red Foxes have earned an opening round bye and will face the winner of the matchup between no. 6 Siena and no. 11 Niagara, which will kick off the tournament at 11 a.m. Nov. 5. Marist will play in the quarterfinals at 11 a.m. Nov. 6.
