KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs women’s soccer team suffered their first conference loss of the season after falling 6-0 to the University of Missouri-Kansas City Kangaroos on Sunday at Durwood Stadium.

The Kangaroos (6-3-2, 2-0-0) scored three goals in the first half against the Broncs (7-2-4, 1-1-1). Kansas City got the scoring started as Sarah Todd knocked one in against freshman Aubrie Coley that made it 1-0.

Emily Herndon added a goal from 30 yards out at the 22:56 mark with the assist going to Lilly Cobb. Kara Priest closed out the scoring in the half with a goal at the 36:05 mark that pushed the Kansas City lead to 3-0.

Herndon got the scoring started in the second half with her second goal of the match at the 46:14 mark that made it 4-0. Alyssa Elver added another goal at 57:25 mark and Nikki Lynch put one in at the 74:49 to close out the scoring.

The Broncs were outshot 20-5 by Kansas City as both teams recorded five saves.

The Broncs are back in action on October 10 when they host the Chicago State Cougars at the UTPA Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
