Warhawk Women fall at UW-La Crosse
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team suffered a 6-0 loss on the road to UW-La Crosse Saturday to drop to 6-7-1 this season and 0-3 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
The Eagles improve to 8-2-1 overall and 2-0 in league play.
UW-L took to their attack early, registering five shots in the first six minutes of the match.
In the 11th minute, the Eagles scored their first goal and never looked back, adding four more goals before halftime.
The Eagles added one more in the 60th minute to bring the match to its final score of 6-0.
The Warhawks tallied nine shots in the match, seven coming in the second half.
Anna Brodjian (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) led UW-W with three shots while Mackenzie Serbousek (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Cedar Rapids Prairie) and Madison Rokos (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central) each recorded one shot on goal.
Nina Yonan (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) played the first 45 minutes in goal for the Warhawks making seven saves, before Sara Klimisch (Pleasant Prairie, Wis./Indian Trail High School and Academy) took over in the second half. Klimisch made two saves.
UW-W will return to action on Wednesday, October 10 when they host Illinois Wesleyan at 7 p.m. at Fiskum Field in Whitewater.
