After a thrilling first round win over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Friday night in Wheaton, Illinois, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer team lost to Wheaton (Ill.) 1-0 Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Warhawks wrap-up 2015 with a 14-4-2 record, their third straight season with 14 wins.

Dylan Hottsmith (DeKalb, Ill./DeKalb) tried to get the Warhawks on the board with a shot in the 16th minute, but Thunder goalkeeper Matt Paprocki was there to make the save.
A foul on the Warhawks in the 23rd minute resulted in a penalty kick opportunity for the Thunder. Wheaton capitalized to take an early 1-0 lead.
Sam Novak (Milton, Wis./Milton) looked for an equalizer in the 34th minute but Paprocki again made the save and the Warhawks headed into halftime down 1-0.
Carmel Nezien (Pouni, Burkina Faso/Lycee De Tenado) had a chance to tie the match early in the second half, but Paprocki stopped his header from finding the goal.
Buchman kept the Warhawks in it with saves in the 57th and 59th minutes.
Hottsmith had another chance in the 64th minute, but Paprocki continued to turn the Warhawks away.
The Wheaton defense did the rest, holding UW-W to just one shot in the final 25 minutes of play to hold on to win 1-0.
Wheaton outshot UW-W 20-9 in the match.
The Warhawks were making their 12th NCAA tournament appearance in school history and second in a row. Last season Wheaton knocked the Warhawks out of the tournament as well.
