DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer team lost to Loras College 3-0 Thursday night to relinquish possession of the Hawk Cup after winning it the past two seasons. This is the ninth installment of the Hawk Cup, which started back in 2009. Loras now leads the series 6-3.
The Duhawks went to work early, testing Warhawk keeper Chris Lucatorto (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) with a shot on goal in the first minute of play.

UW-W continued with offensive pressure with shots by Alex Whiteman (Mount Prospect, Ill./Prospect), Peter Raymonds (Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield East) and Kevin Mesich (West Allis, Wis./West Allis Hale)between the 17th and 20th minutes, but Whiteman's shot sailed wide, Raymonds' was saved and Mesich's was blocked.
Joey Pumo (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha North) had an opportunity to give the Warhawks a lead in the 31st minute but Duhawk keeper Jacob Peterson made the stop.
With just over six minutes to go in the first half, Loras snuck one past the Warhawk defense and Lucatorto for a 1-0 lead that they carried into halftime.
Peter Raymonds (Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield East) and Henry Raymonds (Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield East) each had a chance at an equalizer early in the second half, but both were unable capitalize.
Loras made good on a penalty kick opportunity in the 62nd minute and added another goal on a counter attack in the 64th minute to make it 3-0, and never looked back.
UW-W totaled 11 shots in the match, four on goal, while the Duhawks registered 16 shots, seven on goal.
Lucatorto played the first 75 minutes and made four saves before giving way to Toney Anderson (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's) who tallied two stops.
