Warhawks Suffer Road Loss to Carthage
KENOSHA, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer team lost to Carthage College 3-0 Wednesday night at Art Keller Field. The Red Men improve to 4-2-1 overall while the Warhawks fall to 3-3-2.
Peter Raymonds (Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield East) accounted for two of the Warhawks' six shots in the match. His first came in the fourth minute of play, but the Carthage keeper was positioned to make the save.
Carthage recorded 11 first half shots, including one in the 40th minute that got past Warhawk goalkeeper Chris Lucatorto (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) to give the home team a 1-0 lead at the half.
The Red Men added insurance goals in the 53rd and 71st minutes to seal the victory.
Adam Demaster (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha West), Brad Ludwig (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) and Jack Wirth (Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee) also got in on the offensive action, recording at least one shot each.
Wednesday night's match is the end of a five-game road trip for the Warhawks. UW-W returns to Fiskum Field in Whitewater this weekend for a match on Saturday at 7 p.m. against Webster, and a match on Sunday at 2 p.m. against Westminster (Mo.).
