Williams and Tynkkynen Earn Weekly Honors
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Temple men's soccer players Olli Tynkkynen and Jonah Williams were honored with American Athletic Conference weekly honors after their performance this weekend. Tynkkynen grabbed Rookie of the Week Honors while Williams garnered Defensive Player of the Week.
Tynkkynen scored a pair of goals in Temple's 3-0 win over Sacramento State on Sunday. The goals were the first of his career. He had four shots on the week, including three on goal.
Williams helped lead a Temple defense that allowed just one goal in two games, including a shutout of Sacramento State where the Owls didn't allow a single shot on goal. The redshirt senior also assisted on Chas Wilson's goal versus the Hornets.
The Owls return to action this Friday at Penn State on 7:00 p.m.
