Women's Conference Tournament Semis Preview
This weekend, it all stops making sense. The regular season is somewhat predictable. Teams run hot and cold, but over 15 games tend to show their true level — especially when they play competitive schedules. But now, with tournament play in full swing, anything can happen. That makes predicting what might happen over the next few days something of a pointless pursuit. Upsets are inevitable. Hidings are likely. There will be close contests and there will be games settled within 15 minutes. The good news for college soccer purists is that overtime, and all of its excitement, is back — albeit without the golden goal rule that had been so polarizing in recent years. So, expect tired legs, tired minds, and somewhere in all of that, some quality soccer, too.
