Women's Division I Top 25: Dec. 1
And then there were four.
The College Cup field is set, and a quartet of Division I womne's programs are preparing for Boca Raton, with all eyes on hoisting a national championship.
Virginia, Florida State, Texas A&M and Stanford progressed past the quarterfinal stage, and have a few days to prepare for one more round of games.
The Cavaliers provided the "upset" of the weekend, toppling previously undefeated UCLA 2-1, as USWNT stalwart Morgan Brian fired home what turned into the game-winning goal in the second half. They'll face College Cup debutants Texas A&M, which survived a tight 2-1 clash with Penn State.
New No. 1 ranked side Florida State perhaps enters next weekend as favorites, fresh off a 5-0 trouncing of South Carolina, as Jamia Fields and Cheyna Williams scored two goals each in the victory. The Seminoles' semifinal opponents will be Stanford, the only program traveling to Boca Raton with a national title already in its trophy case.
