Women’s Hermann Watch: College Cup edition
Only three games are left in the women’s Division I college season.
And while Hermann Trophy hopefuls may not be able to sway voters at this point in the season, the opportunity is there to make one final impression on college soccer’s biggest stage.
So who is in the running at this point? The award won’t necessarily go to a player from the national title winner, but the last time a Hermann winner wasn’t involved in the College Cup was back in 2004, when Canadian star Christine Sinclair won the first of her back-to-back awards. On Tuesday afternoon, the field was narrowed with the announcement of the semifinalists.
But a couple of players can still stake a claim with strong performances in Cary. Here’s a look at four of the favorites, three who will be involved this weekend.
