Women's Soccer Extends Win Streak to Four
MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team extended their win streak to four and recorded their fifth shutout as notched a 2-0 victory over Northern Michigan Friday evening.
With the win, the Panthers move to 8-4-2 overall and 4-3-2 in conference action, while the Wildcats drop to 2-6 and 3-9 in the GLIAC.
In the 14th minute, senior Jennifer Holton (Johnstown, Ohio) connected to the right side of the net for the first goal of the game and her fifth on the season.
Scoring her seventh goal of the season, freshman Lauren Pratt (West Chester, Ohio) knocked in the second goal of the game in the 86th minute from two feet outside the net for a Panther 2-0 lead. Pratt has scored a goal in the last four games she has played.
The Wildcats outshot the Panthers 12-6, including six shots on goal. ODU narrowly edged Northern Michigan in corner kicks, kicking four to their three.
Sophomore goalie Laura Clark (Lapeer, Mich.) stopped six goals and improved to a 7-4-2 record and notched her fifth shutout of the season.
The Panthers continue their Michigan tour this Sunday, October 14 as they battle Michigan Tech at 12:00 pm.
