Women’s Soccer Falls at UAlbany
UAlbany erupted for four second half goals to defeat Siena Women’s Soccer 5-1 Sunday night at Bob Ford Field. Junior Cassy Landis scored her first career goal, accounting for the Saints’ tally.
Caitlyn Paltsios tallied five points for UAlbany (1-2), scoring a goal and dishing out three assists including on the game-winner. Three of the five Great Danes’ goals came from reserves which totaled 10 of their 20 shots.
UAlbany led 1-0 at the half and took a two-goal lead early in the final stanza. The Saints (1-3) cut the deficit in half when Landis headed in a corner kick in the 61st minute off the foot of sophomore Tara Sobierajski.
But UAlbany added three insurance goals in a 15-minute span late to pull away.
Taylor Booth made four saves for the Saints, while Alana Brennan recorded five saves for UAlbany.
The Saints will look to bounce back Friday when they face Binghamton in Vestal. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
