Women's Team of the Week: Nov. 5
While the NC State soccer team wasn’t necessarily on the bubble heading into the final week of the season, but last Thursday’s game away against Louisville was a big one.
Previous Teams of the Week: Aug. 27 | Sept. 3 | Sept. 10 | Sept. 17 | Sept. 24 | Oct. 1 | Oct. 8 | Oct. 15 | Oct. 22 | Oct. 29
It not only offered a chance to clinch a spot in the ACC tournament, but that would also more or less solidify another at-large bid for the big dance.
Senior Tziarra King played a pivotal role to ensure that the Wolfpack would pick up wins in that game, and then in the ACC quarterfinals on Sunday. King setup what turned out to be the game-winning goal in a 1-0 road win against the Cardinals. That win secured a spot in the ACC tournament quarterfinals, once again a road match at Louisville.
Player of the Week: Tziarra King, NC State
King delivered again in the Sunday game, scoring a goal in overtime to secure a 2-1 win, and a spot in the conference tournament semifinals this Friday against North Carolina.

Check out some of the other top performances from the past week of action in women’s Division I soccer below.
Team of the Week: October 28-November 3
GK Angelina Anderson, California – A stellar freshman season continued for Anderson last week, as she put in a stellar shift in Cal’s 3-0 win against Arizona. Anderson made 10 saves in that victory, as well as three more on Sunday as the Golden Bears swept the Arizona schools with a 2-1 win against Arizona State.
D Lucy Parker, UCLA – The Bruins are rolling at this point in the season, winners in seven of their last eight, including two wins last week in Oregon. Parker marshalled the team’s defense in a 4-0 win against Oregon State, and then bagged the winner in a 1-0 win over Oregon.
D Lotte Wubben-Moy, North Carolina – After a shaky defensive effort from the Heels last Thursday at Miami in a 3-2 win, Wubben-Moy helped lead the back line to a bounce back effort on Sunday in the ACC tournament. Facing Notre Dame in the quarterfinals, the England youth international scored twice and helped her side keep a clean sheet in a 3-0 victory.
D Ashleigh Plumptre, USC – Like their Southern California counterparts, USC flew up to Oregon and returned with six points. Plumptre played 90 minutes in wins against Oregon and Oregon State, scoring the winner in a 1-0 victory in the latter match.
M Iris Rabot, James Madison – Only a CAA tournament win is going to get the Dukes into the tournament, and the team stayed alive with two wins in the competition. Rabot assisted on all three goals in JMU’s critical 3-2 win in overtime against No. 2 seed Delaware, and face Hofstra this weekend with a shot at the NCAA tournament.
M Ellie Moreno, UCF – The freshman scored the winning goals in both matches last weekend. The first was a match winner in a 1-0 win against in-state rivals South Florida. She followed that up by opening the scoring in a 5-0 victory at home over Houston.
M Abby Carchio, Brown – The Bears locked up the Ivy League title with a 1-0 overtime win against Penn. Carchio stepped up with the game on the line in the second overtime, converting a penalty kick. It was one of 11 shots she took on the day, as the Brown offense launched 27 total, getting 11 on frame but needed 109 minutes to win.
M Tziarra King, NC State – One of the most underrated players in the ACC he past few seasons, King is once again well into the double-digits in goals scored with 13.
F Nikki Cox, Bowling Green – With eyes on a NCAA tournament win via a MAC tournament title, Cox kept Bowling Green’s season alive. First, she tallied the eventual winner in a 3-1 win against Toledo to secure the regular season conference crown. Then, in the MAC quarterfinal on Sunday, Cox scored once and assisted on another as her side advanced to next weekend’s semifinals.
F Catarina Macario, Stanford – It was another fantastic offensive weekend for the Cardinal, and Macario was once again front and center. She scored three and assisted on three more in wins over Arizona State and Arizona. Macario’s running away with the Player of the Year award, now on 23 goals and 16 assists on the year.
F Deyna Castellanos, Florida State – Castellanos had a hand in all three goals this past week, scoring the winner against Duke last Thursday, and helping the Seminoles knock off Clemson 2-1 in the ACC tournament. She now has 11 goals and nine assists on the season.
Honorable Mention: F Isabella D’Aquila (Santa Clara), GK Emory Wegener (Georgia), F Haley Johnson (Wisconsin-Milwaukee), F Morgan Weaver (Washington State), F Sabrina Bryan (Hofstra), GK Marisa Bova (Purdue), F Gabriella Coleman (Oklahoma State), F Kirsten Davis (Texas Tech), M Paula Germino-Watnick (Georgetown), F Julie Garst (Belmont), M Taryn Ries (Portland), F Jessie Ray (Seattle), F Gaby DelPico (Harvard), M Brice McInroy (Villanova)
