<p><strong>LEXINGTON, Va. (Aug. 7, 2012)</strong> &ndash; Newcomer <strong>Megan Wynne </strong>(St. Albans, England) scored in the final minutes of play to shoot the ETSU women&rsquo;s soccer team past VMI, 1-0, on Tuesday night in the Lady Bucs&rsquo; first exhibition of the 2012 season.</p> <p>Played at regulation time through two 45-minute halves, ETSU fired 21 shots in the direction of VMI keepers to force the Keydets into making nine saves. In the dying moments of the game, junior <strong>Samantha Kron </strong>(Paradise Valley, Ariz.) found Wynne on the far side of the net with a corner, which the freshman buried past Mackenzie Harrmann for the win.</p> <p>Freshman ETSU keepers <strong>Sierra Campbell </strong>(Thompson&rsquo;s Station, Tenn.) and <strong>Kara Krejenta </strong>(Crodova, Tenn.) combined for the shutout, with Campbell making the lone save off four VMI shots.</p> <p>&ldquo;Overall I was very happy with today&rsquo;s game,&rdquo; commented second year head coach <strong>Adam Sayers</strong>. &ldquo;I think it certainly served its purpose and I thought we did very well defensively from a team standpoint. We were able to experiment some with personnel, and overall we&rsquo;re happy with the outcome.&rdquo;</p> <p>Wynne led the game with five shots, while <strong>Emilee Engelhaupt</strong>&rsquo;s (Charlotte, N.C.) two shots and defensive midfield play earned kudos from Sayers.</p> <p>&ldquo;Individually, I thought Megan Wynne and Emilee Engelhaupt were both excellent in what was a physical encounter,&rdquo; added Sayers. &ldquo;Engelhaupt began in a deep-lying midfield role, and broke forward with the ball on many occasions to create chances for us. We moved her to a more advanced position later on, where she was also influential.
