Nighswonger is the No. 6 ranked played in the 2019 IMG Academy Top 150, and a standout for Slammers FC in the ECNL and Huntington Beach. She's earned consistent call-ups to various U.S. youth national teams, including a recent U.S. U18 camp in April and a trip to England back in February. Nighswonger was born in 2000, a year too old for the U.S. U17 WNT for the 2018 cycle. Last summer, she led Slammers FC U15s to the ECNL title.
Despite a handful games during the recently completed high school season, Nighswonger tied for the team lead for goals scored with 15 for Huntington Beach. She also added nine assists.
The California native is the second verbal commitment to join Florida State in 2019, along with Taylor Radecki.
