D.C.
WCAC: [St. John's dc-w] 4, [Paul VI va-w] (Va.) 3 (PK): Caitlin Bierwirth came up with two saves in the shootout, the second one clinching the title as St. John's (16-1-1) dethroned defending champ Paul VI (10-4-1). The WCAC has teams from D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
IDAHO
5A: Centennial 4, Mountain View 0: Utah commit Makayla Christensen scored twice to lead Centennial to a comfortable state title victory, making the first the first to ever win both the 5A Southern Idaho Conference girls team to sweep the district and state titles in the same year. Christensen also assisted goals by Cheyanne Rede and Molly Cole, which were set up by corner kicks from BYU commit Josephine Bush. Christensen finished the season with 44 goals. Centennial ended the season at 19-2.
4A: Bishop Kelly 2, Sandpoint 1: Evelyn Elwer scored a goal and assisted on her sister Lauren's goal as Bishop Kelly completed a perfect season and extended its win streak to 42 matches. Bishop Kelly rolled through 4A competition, but opened the season with a 4-0 win over 5A Boise, a team that split its matches against 5A champ Centennial.
3A: Coeur d'Alene Charter 1, Shelley 0: Freshman Sarah Hines scored in the 62nd minute to lead CDA Charter to a second straight state title. Mercedes Zepeda had four saves in a shutout effort as CDA Charter wrapped up a 17-0-1 season.
INDIANA
3A: Penn 2, Guerin Catholic 0: Florida State commit Kristina Lynch, known for her goal scoring ability, assisted both second-half goals as Penn repeated as state champion. Xavier commit Holly McLaughlin scored the first goal off a pass from Lynch in the 54th minute, then Lynch set up Maya Lacognato's game-clincher seven minutes later. Penn has posted back-to-back undefeated seasons and heads into 2018 with a 47-match (45-0-2) undefeated streak. Northwestern commit Mackenzie Wood made a point-blank save early in the match to keep the game scoreless. Lynch finished the season with 44 goals and 19 assists. Juniors Lacognato and Notre Dame commit Brooke VanDyck each ended with 13 goals and double-digit assists. Penn (23-0-1) outscored its opponents 122-4. Guerin finished 16-2-1.
2A: Evansville Memorial 3, South Bend St. Joseph 1: Annah Hopkins, Hope Lensing and Grace Lensing scored the goals -- all assisted by Laurie Hargis -- as Memorial won a fourth state title, but this one was special for the Lensing family. Grace, a senior, and Hope, a freshman, are coached by their mother, Angie. The mother had her daughters watch Memorial's previous titles (2008 and 2012) during her tenure as coach, and now has one to share. Evansville Memorial end the season at 19-4. Madison Veldman scored the lone goal for St. Joseph (18-5-1).
1A: Evansville Mater Dei 1, Wheeler 0: Miranda Nosko scored with 2:30 left in the second overtime as Mater Dei stunned previously undefeated Wheeler in the state final. Wheeler standout Lyric Green to tie the match 90 seconds later in overtime but the goal was negated by an offside call. Mater Dei ended the season 13-6-4 and claimed its first girls soccer state title. Green finished the season with 44 goals as Wheeler went 21-1.
MAINE
A: [Camden Hills me-w] 3, [Scarborough me-w] 2: Camden Hills jumped out to a 3-0 lead then held on for a victory, marking the program's second straight title in a match that feature two undefeated teams. Camden Hills ended 17-0-1. Scarborough finied 16-1-1. Kassie Krul scored twice and Kistina Kelly netted her 39th goal of the season as Camden Hills built a 3-0 lead. Gaby Panagakos and Ashley Sabatino answered for Scarborough to turn into in a close match for the final seven minutes.
B: [Yarmouth me-w] 9, [Presque Isle me-w] 0: Ehryn Groothoff scored three goals in the first half and Yarmouth rolled to a second straight state title with a state record nine goals in a final. Hannah Merrill added three goals and one assist and Eva Then, Delaware(w) commit Sara D'Appolonia, Hannah Dwyer also scored. Yarmouth finished 18-0. Presque Isle ended 14-4.
C: Houlton 1, Madison 0: Kolleen Bouchard scored the game winner in the second half as Houlton finished a 17-1 season. Madison ended 16-2.
D: Richmond 2, Ashland 1: Caitlin Kendrick and Bryannah Shea scored the goals to lift Richmond to a state title in the fourth straight state final meeting between these programs.
MARYLAND
ISL-AA: [Potomac School va-w] (Va.) 4, [Stone Ridge md-w] 2: Courtlynne Caskin scored twice and Tracey Mills and Charlotte White netted goals as Potomac School captured the title to finish a 14-1-2 season. The ISL has schools from D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
ISL-A: Holy Child def. Holton-Arms.
MISSISSIPPI
MAIS Division I: Jackson Academy 6, Madison-Ridgeland Academy 2: Jackson Academy completed an undefeated season with a second straight state title, beating MRA to finish the year 18-0-3. Junior Erin Hederman scored two goals, giving her 23 for the season, and assisted on one score. Jackson Academy carries a 23-match undefeated streak into the 2018 season.
MAIS Division II: Lamar 1, Pillow Academy 0: Senior Darby Gillette, a Louisiana Lafayette commit, scored 27 minutes into the match and it held up as the lone goal for Lamar (11-2-1), which won a third straight state title. Freshman keeper Bayleigh Brent had the shutout.
MAIS Division III: Park Place Christian 3, Starkville Academy 1: Sybil Roberson scored all three goals, two assisted by Reagan Savell, as Park Place Christian won a first-ever state title for the program. Park Place finished 13-0-1.
MONTANA
AA: Helena 4, Bozeman 2: Kamden Hilborn converted a penalty kick that broke a 2-2 tie with nine minutes remaining as Helena defeated Bozeman in a battle of the state's top two teams. Carroll College(w) commit Katie Martin gave Helena a 2-0 lead with a pair of first-half goals. Bozeman responded with a pair of goals by Olivia Kaiser. Hilborn delivered the game-winner in the 71st minute and Alanna Vickory tacked on an insurance goal two minutes later as Helena won its second title in three seasons. Helena ended the season at 12-1-4. Bozeman finished 12-2-3.
A: Laurel 2, Billings Central 0: Kaitlyn Dawes and Aspen Cotter scored the goals as Laurel won its second title in a run of four straight state final appearances. Billings Central was denied a third straight state title, winning in 2015 and 2016 after Laurel had won in 2014.
NEW MEXICO
6A: [La Cueva nm-w] 1, [Cleveland nm-w] 0 (OT): Junior Hannah Rivera scored in overtime to lift La Cueva to its 16th state title in the 32-year history of the program. La Cueva, the state runners-up the past two seasons, ended 20-1 with a season-ending 17-match win streak. Cleveland finished 19-3.
5A: [Albuquerque Academy nm-w] 1, [Los Alamos nm-w] 0: Gabby Sanchez's first goal of the season gave Albuquerque Academy a second straight state title. Albuquerque Academy ended the year 19-4. Los Alamos was 17-6-1, with three of the losses at the hands of Albuquerque Academy.
1A-4A: [Sandia Prep nm-w] 2, Socorro 0: Jacqueline Rodriguez and Ellie Cook scored to lead Sandia Prep to a second straight state title. Sandia Prep ended 16-7. Socorro finished 16-5.
SOUTH DAKOTA
AA: T.F. Riggs 3, O'Gorman Catholic 0: Abigail Foster, Caytee Williams and Joana Zanin scored the goals as Riggs won a first-ever state title. Riggs finishes 12-1-2. O'Gorman, which has lost in the state final the past two years, was the No. 8 seed and knocked off undefeated Aberdeen Central in the quarterfinals en route to the final. O'Gorman finished 7-6-3.
A: West Central 1, St. Thomas More: Sydney Kurtz netted the game-winner as West Central (13-1) repeated as Class A state champs.
TENNESSEE
AAA: [Germantown Houston tn-w] 1, Collierville 0: Freshman Emma Riales scored the lone goal as Houston edged rival Collierville in an all-Memphis area state final to complete a perfect season. The win marked the eighth title for Houston under longtime coach David Wolff. Houston went 25-0. Collierville was 18-5-1 with three losses to Houston. The Houston senior class went 85-2-4 with two state titles, a runner-up finish and one semifinal appearance.
AA: White House 1, Greeneville 0: Shelby Deering scored in the 42nd minute to carry White House to its first state title over preseason favorite Greeneville. White House went 17-4-3. Greeneville ended 18-5-3.
A: Alcoa 2, Signal Mountain 0: Mya McKinney and Peiton Bledsoe scored the goals as Alcoa, which had never been to a state tournament, won the inaurugal Class A title. Before the 2017 season, the AA and A schools were grouped in one classification. As an A school, Alcoa rolled through the eight playoff games with a scoring margin of 40-0. Alcoa went 19-3-2. Signal Mountain finished 11-6-1.
Div. II-AA: Baylor School 2, Briarcrest Christian 1 (PK): After a 1-1 match through regulation and overtime, Baylor emerged as the state champion by winning the shootout 4-2. The victory marked the ninth title for Baylor, which came 20 years to the date after the first title. Grace Spurling scored in regulation for Baylor and Peyton Moore answered for Briarcrest. Baylor finished 14-0-5. Briarcrest ended 14-3-2.
Div. II-A: St. George's 2, Chattanooga Christian 0: Olivia Tanzer scored both goals in the second half as St. George's claimed a fourth state title for the program. St. George's ended 15-6-1, while Chattanooga Christian went 21-2-2.
UTAH
6A: American Fork 3, Syracuse 1: Sisters Jamie and Josie Shepherd and Addi Holmstead scored second-half goals as American Fork rallied for a state final victory after trailing at halftime. American Fork finishes the season at 19-1. Syracuse at 17-3. They were the No. 1 and 2-ranked teams entering the playoffs. The title was a first for American Fork's program. Caroline Stringfellow scored for Syracuse.
5A: Maple Mountain 2, Timpanogos 1 (PKs): In a season full overtime matches, Maple Mountain made good on the final one for a first-ever state title, beating a league rival. Maple Mountain won the shootout 5-4 when Timpanogos missed on its final attempt. Maple Mountain finished 10-2-5. Timpanogos ended 13-2-3. Timpanogos won 5A Region 8 as Maple Mountain finished second. The league rivals worked through the 16-team state tournament bracket to meet in the final. Anna Pickering gave Maple Mountain a 1-0 lead before Tess Donaldson evened the score for Timpanogos, leading to overtime and eventually the shootout. Maple Mountain played in eight overtime matches this season. Both 5A state semifinals went to penalty kicks, in addition to the final.
4A: Sky View 2, Bonneville 0: Samantha Tippetts and Sidney Barlow netted second-half goals to lift Sky View to a first-ever state title. Sky View keeper Kelsea Cracroft came up big to earn the shutout. Sky View finished 15-2-2, with one of those losses an 8-0 setback to 6A champ American Fork. Bonneville ended 13-3-4.
3A: Morgan 4, Judge Memorial 1: Senior Logan Duran scored three goals and Rhylee Freeman added one as Morgan claimed a first-ever state title. Morgan Cragun assisted two goals. Sophia Ewing scored for Judge Memorial, which at the time trimmed the score to 2-1. Duran scored twice in the second half to put the match of out reach. She finishes the year with 26 goals. Morgan and Judge Memorial are league rivals. Morgan finishes 15-5. Judge Memorial ends 9-6-2.
2A: Rowland Hall 6, Waterford 3: In one of the most dominating seasons ever in Utah soccer, Rowland Hall capped a perfect season with a win over league rival Waterford. Rowland Hall finished 18-0 and outscored its opponents 168-6. That scoring margin was 162-3 before the state final. Rowland Hall scored at least six goals in all but one match. Sophomore Jordan Crockett scored three goals to end the year with 42. Sophomore Giselle Bodeen scored her 24th of the year and senior Caeli Kennedy had a goal and three assists as she ended with 22 goals and 34 assists.
VIRGINIA
