HS: Fall state, region rankings, Aug. 27
The revolving door for Indiana girls continues, just in time for this week's Lady Eagle Invitational.
On the boys side, the start of play in Illinois led to a slight reshuffling of teams near the top of the rankings.
Those are the highlights in this week's state and regional ranking update.
In Indiana, Noblesville takes over No. 1 on the state level with a pair of schools from the same town - Fishers - chasing close behind with Hamilton Southeastern and Fishers in the No. 2 and 3 spots. Former state No. 1 Carmel settles in at No. 4 following a 1-0 setback to Fishers.
In Illinois, Naperville North and Libertyville posted impressive wins to remain No. 1 and 2 this week in the state. Peoria Notre Dame and St. Charles North moved up into the No. 3 and 4 spots in the state.
Around the country over the weekend, West Jessamine (Ky.) won the top flight title at the Smoky Mountain Cup in Tennessee, while Greenwood (Ky.) made a strong showing at the same event to earn a spot in this week's state rankings. Other key regional results included former state No. 10 Park Hill South (Mo.) edging then state No. 2 Rockhurst Jesuit (Mo.) to lead to a re-ordering if the Missouri teams.
