HS: Final fall state, region rankings
Colts Neck (Colts Neck, N.J.) upended Northern Highlands (Allendale, N.J.) 1-0 in the New Jersey Group 3 girls soccer state championship, ending Northern Highlands' run at No. 1 in the state and region.
Colts Neck jumps to No. 1 in the New Jersey girls state rankings while McDonogh School (Owings Mills, Md.) regains the top spot in the East girls rankings. Glastonbury (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Seattle Prep (Seattle, Wash.) secured the No. 1 region rankings in the Northeast and Northwest, respectively, with weekend state titles.
On the boys side, all seven region No. 1s were finalized prior to this past weekend, but there was some movement in the Mid-Atlantic boys rankings on the heels of state title wins by Central Bucks East (Doylestown, Pa.), South Mecklenburg (Charlotte, N.C.), Salesianum (Wilmington, Del.), Haverford School (Haverford, Pa.) and Lewisburg (Lewisburg, Pa.).
