SPRING NEWS
Dalton (Ga.) had its undefeated streak ended at 80 matches with a shootout loss to Riverwood (Ga.) in boys soccer action last week. Despite the setback, Dalton still advances to the playoffs. That result will allow Chattahoochee (Alpharetta, Ga.) to move to No. 1 in the state, region and SIMA FAB 50 spring rankings after spending most of the year at No. 2 in all three rankings.
On the girls side, New Trier (Winnetka, Ill.) reached the Pepsi Showdown final, then lost a weekend contest to St. Charles North (St. Charles, Ill.) while playing without its star player. New Trier falls from No. 1 in the state, region and SIMA FAB 50 rankings. Loyola Academy (Wilmette, Ill.) moves to No. 1 in the state and region rankings, and last year's SIMA FAB 50 spring national champ Tulsa Union (Tulsa, Okla.) appears destine to a return to No. 1 in the SIMA FAB 50 on Tuesday.
